fgs moondog - what has he done to deserve such hatred from you?????

Kathy1972 · 25/03/2006 21:39

I thought Kember specifically said beforehand that if he was kidnapped he did not want military force to be used to rescue him.

I mean they chose to go into the army.
And I mean that this war should never have started so they shouldn't be there anyway.

moondog · 25/03/2006 21:42

Hey Kath, didn't look like he turned them down though did it?
'Hello fellows. Look, splendid to see you and all that, but I really would rather spend my twilight years chained to an old radiator and reading the Koran (in Arabic).
Toodlepip,sorry about causing any bother.'

God can you imagine his family and all the other F'ing do gooders if whent hey sent a video we sent a message back saying we don't care he has speciafically asked us not to intervene!!

And this has nothing to do with the rights or wrongs of the situation or whether the soldiers should be out there!!

JoolsToofedupofbeingbijouxdeux · 25/03/2006 21:44

twinkie1 - I know you! Grin usually agree with you too.

On KB, I had sympathy with his situation but questioned his reasons for being there, like you wild horses wouldn't have got me there.

Kember on the other hand is another kettle of fish. The situation for ordinary Iraqi's we can't begin to imagine without organisations like Red Cross and CPM the situation would be even worse. Thank goodness, I say, that there are human beings out there who are moved to help in desperate situations. If we all said 'serves him right' every time someone was in trouble - what a world we would have.

The only 'arses' in this situation are those people who think aid workers helping their own countrymen are fair game for a kidnap.

Perhaps some of you would like to meet Tom Fox's family so you could tell them what an arse their husband/son/brother has been - that'll show em eh?

moondog · 25/03/2006 21:45

Twinkie,yes.
'Oh have the silly old sod.We did mention that it might clash with the start of the bowling season, but he wouldn't listen!'

you really are a weirdo moondog.Goodnight!

Yafta · 25/03/2006 21:45

The soldiers get no choice AFAIK in where they go . They should be rescued if at all possible when getting into difficulties. Kember had a choice. Why should they risk their own lives to rescue people who have been reckless? I just can't seen to square it in my head that we should risk our service people.

moondog · 25/03/2006 21:46

JT,he wasn't an aid worker. That is the point!!!

OP posts:
Twinkie1 · 25/03/2006 21:47

He isn't an aid worker - he is a peace activist they are 2 very different things - one going out to help others and one going out to get THEIR message across to the world - well fuck me do it in a way that soldiers don't have to put their lives at risk coming to save you!!

JoolsToofedupofbeingbijouxdeux · 25/03/2006 21:47

maybe not but he wasn't there as a tourist now was he?!

we could do with more peace activists - the world is in a shit state!

moondog · 25/03/2006 21:49

Peace activist...now that's an example of tautology if ever there was one.
Would love to know what his modus operandi was.

I'd also love to see the reception an Iraqi 'peace activist' would have in the UK....

Yafta · 25/03/2006 21:50

Fine be a peace activist just don't expect to get rescued.

No Jools - no self respecting tourist would go there - they have brains and arenlt pompous enough to think going and getting kidnapped is going to change the world - lots of people have died for the cause that the soldiers are fighting for be it right or wrong and to stand up and say take me is very niave and very pompous - you are one little peace activist who is not going to change the world.

Start a political party sell pretty coloured wrist bands, jump off the nearest bridge with a big banner attached to you saying I am dying for the cause but for f's sake don;t risk someone else dying for your beliefs too!!

moondog · 25/03/2006 21:51

Well said Yafta.

OP posts:
JoolsToofedupofbeingbijouxdeux · 25/03/2006 21:51

well I can see peace lovers are not required here and I may get kidnapped so I'll leave to your own little war - good luck

moondog · 25/03/2006 21:52

Erm..HM,neither did NK.
(Although he may be headless and giving statemnets.Dunno, don't watch tv.)

OP posts:
Twinkie1 · 25/03/2006 21:52

Jools - you are so not a peace lover!! Wink
