Well, maybe not proven. But speculated:

Pysicists may have evidence that the universe is a computer simulation.

how come my fake universe is so bloody boring then? Where's my nice leather coat and designer specs?

CuttedUpPear · 12/10/2012 08:34

I thought you were going to say that MN is the matrix. Grin

CuttedUpPear · 12/10/2012 08:41

In that case, is there any point in recycling?

domesticgodless · 12/10/2012 09:14

good point Cuttedup....that would save me some time every week i can tell you

ZombTEE · 12/10/2012 10:24

I've never thought there was any point in recycling. Now there definitely isn't any point to it!

What else is pointless if we're a simulation...

Read it but not sure I'm any the wiser Grin

This though: "A long-proposed thought experiment, put forward by both philosophers and popular culture, points out that any civilisation of sufficient size and intelligence would eventually create a simulation universe if such a thing were possible." Well that's MN sorted then Wink

I want to be shagged by Neo/Keanu

(But not with the plug socket-thingys down his back, they freaked me out)

OatyBeatie · 12/10/2012 10:32

There's absolutely still a point in recycling. Simulation or not, the universe will be sensitive to our acts and omissions.

(And anyway, we probably earn points for some alien gamster in Universe 34/az1/99B every time we recycle.)

legoballoon · 12/10/2012 14:39

So Shakespeare got it right:

These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits, and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp'd tow'rs, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.

rubberglove · 12/10/2012 21:51

I took the wrong coloured pill

Jux · 15/10/2012 10:48

I want my code rewritten. Now please.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 15/10/2012 10:50

Ah, lego. That made me happy.
