Patient deaths go up 20 per cent every ten miles travelled - so we need to keep local A&Es open to save lives.

Wow, didn't know that!

Doesn't surprise me it's all a joke, especially in London it's not just miles it's the time, closing ealing, Middlesex, Charing cross and Hammersmith is a complete farce, west London will be relying on Chelsea and Westminster, oh what a strange coincidence that the one left open is the one in the rich Tory area.

Don't think it will last tho, once implemented the strain inthe ambulance service will be immense, we don't all have cars and Chelsea and Westminster is two trains and a bus away, and the trains are not running at weekends cos of the tube maintenance.

Utter joke the people should be matching in the streets with flaming torches and pitchforks over this.

Not to mention the traffic in West London - trying to get around at the wrong time of the day can be a joke. I've used the Paediatric A&E a few times at Chelsea & Westminster (as it's the specialist unit for children - I live close to Charing X hospital though), and it can take a long time to get there indeed.

SunWukong there is a march this Saturday.

Not to mention what happens to Fulham traffic when Chelsea or Fulham play at home - bedlam!

Cheers.
