The nation boos at the Tory scum:

I'm afraid the booing sums up everything I hate about politics. All the childish yah-boo-sucks (literally) stuff is exactly why we have odious turds like Osborne in charge in the first place. No normal person can tolerate the nastiness.

I don't care what the provocation is, anyone who behaves like that is complicit in making politics the toxic, shouty, male-dominated pigsty it is.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 04/09/2012 18:03

Good on you, ttosca.

GetDownNesbitt · 04/09/2012 18:14

My reaction was something like Hahahahahahahaha you smug little wanker.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 04/09/2012 18:23

matsikula, Outraged's post about her experience of being there is interesting on the issue of whether it was horribly vitriolic or more of a fairly gentle public display of their feelings towards Georgie boy.

PS Grin at 'prim'. How did you get to be described as such in print? (if it doesn't out you).

seeker · 04/09/2012 18:31

There was no way anyone could have thought the brief booing could have been targetted at anyone but GO. As my dd said, it was a "boo-beam"!

MammaBrussels · 04/09/2012 18:34

Abitwobbly
I would just like to leave Mumsnetters to ponder on one economic fact: the countries that continued to follow THATCHERITE economic monetary policy, are in no economic trouble at all. No debts, no crisis. Under Thatcherite monetary policy, the interests rates would have been around 7% and so subprime derivitives would never have been attractive,

Just out of interest, what did your econometric analysis predict growth, unemployment, inflation and the exchange rate to be?

SilverSixpence · 04/09/2012 19:22

to add to what Outraged said, the atmosphere yesterday was in no way disrespectful to athletes. It was amazing to see the way people cheered and clapped the last person to cross the finishing line just as much as the first. I think everyone was caught by surprise at the cheek of George Osborne turning up to present medals and it was kind of an instant reaction from the crowd.

I have a lot more respect for politicians that have the balls to make unpopular (but right) decisions than politicians who are determined to be popular no matter what. Osbourne is doing a good job IMO.

GreenD · 04/09/2012 20:09

Next election I think everyone should vote for the Green party at least they will protect our green space and try to clean up the air.
And what about everything else? The Greens are a waste of space. They wouldn't have a clue how to run the country if it actually came down to it.

Empusa · 04/09/2012 20:17

"The Greens are a waste of space. They wouldn't have a clue how to run the country if it actually came down to it."

Sorry.. couldn't help sniggering at the juxtaposition of that quote alongside your username Grin

hoodoo12345 · 04/09/2012 20:24

I would of loved to of been there, especially if someone could of passed me a nice sharp javelin.
They make me sick to the stomach.

kaytola · 04/09/2012 20:46

Another 'boo beam' for Theresa May not 10 minutes ago Smile

I do too, but Osborne is not making the right decisions, so his unpopularity is not a sign of anything other than dislike for train wreck policies.

What a div. Gordon Brown got a lot of cheers when he presented medals - both on youtube. I watched Osborne 4 times in a row. Haven't seen such a rictus grin since the WI handclapped TB

malakadoush · 04/09/2012 21:15

Fabulous pompous, heartless, unprincipled little git.

ttosca - great post Grin

malakadoush · 04/09/2012 21:16

Sorry that should have said 'fabulous*-...'

Darkesteyeswithflecksofgold · 04/09/2012 21:27

"My issue is that by putting him in that position in the first place has escalated our internal politics on to an international stage"

I don't know if I agree with that, it's a struggle to get people in this country to sit up and take note of what is going on, maybe letting the rest of the world see it might force people here to open their eyes.

Including the BBC!
NicholasTeakozy · 04/09/2012 21:31

Perhaps I should have put javelin instead of what I actually did put. Maybe then I wouldn't have been deleted.

Osborne is still an odious little shit. Or as Steve Bell draws him, a bollock chinned gimp.

Dawndonna · 04/09/2012 21:36

Brilliant!

Munashe · 04/09/2012 21:51

I never understand why people have a problem with Osborne.

He is simply doing what the Conservative said they were doing; CUTS

Were you in some lalala in 2010 all of you who seem to think he is some nasty creature?

Jinsei · 04/09/2012 21:57

He is a nasty little creature. I thought so before the election, and my opinion hasn't changed.

Munashe I think that you will find that over have the voters did think that the conservatives were nasty creatures in 2010 BUT they still managed to get in thanks to the swarmy Lib Dems. Bah!

NicholasTeakozy · 04/09/2012 22:06
