I currently spend far too much time on fB and mumsnet. Whilst I find the latter excellent, I want to break out of my little bubble and learn more about what is going on in the world as well. Does anyone know of an interesting website/forum that deals with current affairs, topical issues? TIA!

At the risk of completely missing the point, I'm going to suggest BBC News. But rather than just skim the front page daily like I do dig a little deeper - you can browse by category, region, country etc and find the stories that interest you.

Thank you Fringe. Yes BBC is great. I was perhaps looking for something a bit more chatty, but I guess that's what this section of Mumsnet is for!

Digital Spy has a large selection of various forums to choose from and for the mostb part is friendly.
