I remember being scared of him when I was a child Grin

Dh bought me the cd and it is amazing much better than most of the pap in the music charts - you can keep your James Blunts.

Anything else new out that you can recommend? I am in need of updating my music collection.

....and I'm not even an old fart.

It's brilliant, isn't it.

Although everyone laughed at me when I said so on a thread earlier this week so be prepared Wink

meggmoo · 10/03/2006 14:17

Ha ha yes I am prepared for that, it's what I would have said too. Don't you love track 5.

I played it for my friend who's getting married in May and she's going to use it!!! Sigh...

hello again...hello

WigWamBam · 10/03/2006 14:19

I do, actually. Although there's not a track on it I don't like. Not sure about Brian Wilson on the remix of Delirious Love but everything else is brilliant.

moondog · 10/03/2006 14:19

Luuurve on the Rahks!!!!

Right on Neil. He is brill in a bouffant haired kinda way.
He also paid his wife 50% of his money with no prompting when they divorced, saying she deserved it.

WigWamBam · 10/03/2006 14:21

Mmm, looking at the photos on the CD the bouffant hair thing is being replaced by a sort of receeding hair thing now though.

The music's right back to what he was doing in the late 50s, early 60s though when he was at his best so I can forgive him his crimes against hairdressing.

moondog · 10/03/2006 14:21

Oh me too WWB! Grin

BonyM · 10/03/2006 14:21

Ooh - I think Neil Diamond's great - didn't know he had a new album out. I'm off to Amazon...

meggymoo - the last great album we bought was about 6mths ago so not new, but absolutely fantastic if you like bluesy stuff - Magic Time by Van Morrison.

NomDePlume · 10/03/2006 14:21

12 songs ? DH has it but is stuck on his Johnny Cash one atm.

meggmoo · 10/03/2006 14:23

Hmmm might look into his back catalogue. I've got to say I had the cd on yesterday evening and my ds said...lovely music...and he's 21 months...he doesn't say that about anything, oh apart from Razzledazzle of course.

Was just looking to get some new cd's not a particular genre of music. I bought the Strokes new one and also the Kubb CD which are both ok but I haven't really gotten into them like some CD's I've instantly loved. For me it's quite rare that I have a first listen and go wow.

The last time was with a Kathryn Williams CD, now she's cool.

Oh BM,now you're talking.
Van can do no wrong...

WigWamBam · 10/03/2006 14:27

I'm not very up with new music (bit of a boring old fogey) but I like the KT Tunstall one.

rummum · 10/03/2006 14:27

I've got a couple of Neil Diamonds songs on my MP3 player...
the girls at work were horrified...

WigWamBam · 10/03/2006 14:29

The people who get horrified at the thought of Neil Diamond tend to be the ones who only know the commercial stuff like Song Sung Blue and Sweet Caroline - not his best stuff, it has to be said.

Callisto · 10/03/2006 14:30

Neil Diamond? Oh God no. [quickly goes to put some Sex Pistols on]

WigWamBam · 10/03/2006 14:30

I like the Sex Pistols too ... can't pigeonhole good music.

puddle · 10/03/2006 14:31

sweeeeeeeeeeeeet caroline
ba da da da

Fantastic

meggmoo · 10/03/2006 14:31

Callisto I love them too. I am just too greedy when I comes to music. I have to hide new purchases from DH and daren't say how much music I really have - most of the cases are in the loft they take up too much room! Blush

My latest cd purchase is Ballyhoo by Echo & the Bunnymen - songs from my childhood. Smile

WigWamBam · 10/03/2006 14:37

That's my era too, Callisto.

tonton · 10/03/2006 14:45

Love 12 songs. Can't bear most N Diamond but this is a corker. Rick Rubin does it again! Can't compete with the final Johnny Cash album tho...

meggmoo · 10/03/2006 14:46

Johhny Cash.....blerugh ring of fire is poop. (pardon the pun) It's put me off him for life.

My DH got this and loves it - I agree, it is excellent. And yes, he likes the Sex Pistols too. Music snobs should try it out, you might be pleasantly surprised.
