Its bad enough to leave your children unsupervised in that way but to try and cover it up in this way. The mind boggles

Shera YANBU....I am so at the thought of the poor older brother trying to get help & then getting the blame.

YANBU at all...however without seeming picky (not on you, but the article) I fail to see the relevance of mentioning cannabis. I'm not a smoker, but it just seems completely irrelevant.

I think it's pretty obvious that nobody is going to say she isn't disgraceful.

Those were my thoughts, scarlet. The fact that it was wine she drank is also irrelevant. The fact I she left two small children alone in the bath to see to her own needs. Had she been next door crocheting it would be no less horrendous.

Exactly crisps - I didn't want it to come across that I thought that was the most important bit of the story...but generally weed smokers don't neglect their children to the point of drowning. Poor little mite x

Sorry rubbish at posting links. Well it is DM article journalism is not their forte,no alcohol and weed is not the main issue her neglect of her children and the consequences are. I know it is not a AIBU post but I was just shocked at her shitty parenting and how it resulted in the death of her hild

Ghastly business. But where was the DCs' father in all this? Was he another drunk/drug-taking inadequate, or an abuser? If not, why did he leave those poor kids with a mother who was clearly barely capable of looking after herself, let alone two babies?
