here

"Leadership from the independent sector has been sadly lacking and it has failed to provide an inspiring moral vision for us in the 21st century."

I wonder if this will lead the Charities Commission to rethink their stance re charitable status.

Not just the schools that have lost their morals then Smile

Are we on to morals of women who live off male earnings or women who want to sit around and chat rather than learn about tax.

I suppose the painom woman mgith be exploiting her best assets - her sexual capital. I still have the Halkin book on my floor to finish reading so it mustn't have gripped me. We have more of ti than men. Trouble is that doesn't seem to be getting us as far as men get without having much as we only own 1% of the world's wealth. Perhaps we need to ditch the sexual capital and leg waxes and continue to exceed men as we do until women start having babies in work.

More seriously, never mind the scholarships my children have won, sports, music, fields and the like, one of the things I have liked most about their last school is the culture, "morality" and what nice boys they have emerged as. That will in part be due to the teachers and the ethos. [ We are in last days at present which is a bit sad, only a few more and then after over 20 years no children left in prep school ]

pianomama · 05/07/2012 12:38

Well Xenia , if we all stopped waxing our legs we might end up with no children to pay the fees at all Grin .

I am getting a bit worried about your drive to own worlds wealth and have babies in work.

I've been in a position where I had to do pretty much that and even though it is do-able, it is not necessary healthy for either mother or child.

pianomama · 05/07/2012 12:40

PS I only mean have babies at work, leaving the word's wealth to the world :)

Xenia · 05/07/2012 14:16

My oldest is 27 (years not months) so she doesn't really require much attention so I think we need not weep for her too much because her mother works....

I think it's a great pity women own 1% of the world's wealth and earn 30% only of the income. Let's try to switch that around and have men on 1% and womn on 99%. That would be huge fun.

exoticfruits · 05/07/2012 16:12

Or you could simple pool it as a couple Xenia and it isn't a problem.

Xenia · 05/07/2012 17:05

? You mean I acquire the 99%? I would be happy to take it on. I suppose at least int he UK we have a woman in charge - the Queen who has quite a bit of wealth so we are doing our bit and then if we can get Prince Charles to abdicate in favour of a daughter of Prince William that would help.

exoticfruits · 05/07/2012 19:08

I don't want huge wealth. Enough to pay bills and no worry about emergencies is fine.
I meant that as a couple you pool resources and it is immaterial who earns it-you both do.
