Great Gina Ford article in yesterday's ST!!

Did anyone read the article by Gina Ford in yesterday's ST about working mums ? I thought it was great and I am sure many of you will appreciate her comment to India Knigt. I'm with twigglett. I thought GF's was a but simplistic- but that the spare rib one was really thought provoking. Yet to be swayed by GF I'm afraid (Joke!!!)

Wow those articles are great!! I didn't think I ever applaud GF for sounding like the voice of sanity

It does make you feel guilty that we often vilified GF at times (personally I think her practices are interesting and I certainly found little bits really useful in trying to establish routines - but I used my initiative). Ulitimately there are so many parenting 'gurus' and I guess you follow the one that suits you.

Read this too and was impressed after all the recent bad press working mums have had. Not really into the whole GF myself but what she wrote did make sense.

The thing that did stike a chord with me was her comment about people giving her hard time for giving child rearing advice without having children. The next bit about her actually wanting children and it hurting was pretty heartfelt I think.

I thunk you can only get into the site if you're in the UK, Bloss, otherwise you have to pay.

I liked GF's bit where she says she's changed her mind about working mums, over the years. Maybe she'll do the same about her regimes, given time.

Yeah M Stoppard bks always sound like shes cut and pasted from stuff off the internet - like a school project or something. Talk about the bleedin' obvious. Prefer P Leach meself.

Miriam Stoppard known by derogatory names in our house due to stupid 'advice' (reads more like orders) including 'breast fed babies don't need to be winded' and telling pregnant women they can't have sugar in their tea... oh, and they should wear smocks!
