Did you miss the huge controversy over the health bill? (Now an Act, very sadly.) Primary Care Trusts are being abolished and groups of GPs, allegedly, are taking control of the budgets. Except actually GPs aren't managers, they aren't trained to manage complex business contracts and run services - it's just a front for privatisation i.e. 'buying in services' from the likes of McKinsey's. Every Royal College (bar one, IIRC) came out against it, the BMA came out against it, everyone who gives a toss about the NHS... but the government shoved it through anyway.

So GPs are trusted by this Government when it comes to the health budget but are not to be trusted when it comes to decide whether or not a patient is sick enough/eligible to recieve sickness benefits like ESA or DLA. Cam and Clegg and Co just keep rewriting the rules to suit their own agenda.

I think the Gps will just employ managers(yet more!) or business people to run that side of things for them I saw a couple of ads for this on a job site Yes that is what they will do
