How to dispose of a murder weapon?

I cleaned out my kitchen drawers recently (I know, thrilling) and have found loads of knives which we never use as are blunt and crap - probably left over from student house days. Still, they're carving and chopping types, blunt or not I can hardly just chuck them in the bin can I? I'll do the bin man an injury.

Any ideas?

Take them to the police station?

Noticed there was a "bin a knife" bin next to the recycling ones in a local car park the other day. Anything like that near you?

Hmm, see that's when they might start wondering what the hell I'd been doing with them all...

Oops, see I've posted this on the wrong board too

I just tape them up in plenty of newspaper and bin them (makes it sound like I'm chucking away knives all the time..)

Really HM? That's exactly what I need. I'll take a look next time I'm passing but I don't think so.

All great suggestions.

What's the bet that in reality I put them
back in the drawer and then forget all about them for another year?
