Distasteful and really rather silly stunt.

Clever wording but stupid advert.
I don't know what they hope to gain from it. It isn't as if the International community are going to turn round and tell the UK to hand them over.

The agency that made the ad is Young & Rubicam, part of WPP. Sir Martin Sorrell is the CEO of WPP so the buck ultimately stops with him. He's usually very keen to give us his opinion - wonder whether what we'll get from him on this? Oh and he gets 'compensation' of £13m a year. I'm sure he can take time out of his busy schedule putting the fear of God into staff at various offices around the globe or doing media interviews to drop a few pearls of wisdom.

Thankyou for the link , i did wonder what all the fuss was about and i am still not 100% sure . Agree re the war memorial thing , was it an Argentine memorial or a British one ? Its a piss poor little thing either way and feel more disgusted if thats the best we can offer as a symbol to those who lost their lives in the conflict.

frumpet · 05/05/2012 08:13

Actually didnt i hear/read that the memorial was to those fallen in WW1 or WW2 ? I take back the piss poor bit , but honestly i think the one in our village is bigger Sad

looks like the ad agency realised it has dropped a bollock.

Training on a War Memorial (of any nationality, in any place, by an athlete from any country) is just plain Wrong.
