I sympathise with this guy's anguish, but with something so precious, why hadn't he backed them up?

PCs and laptops break eventually, and obviously laptops can get lost or stolen. Photos on our laptop are one of the few files that I systematically back up to a DVD because I couldn't bear to lose them all. Or you can sign up to services like Tesco photo (I think it's free) and upload photos there - and then you can even pay to have prints made (remember them?)

Sadly when you are grieving you do not think straight and I don't expect he gave it a thought. After all it was only last month, poor man

How awful

I have all the photos of my DD2 on my laptop. I have printed them out (thankfully), but still worry about them. I have also uploaded quite a few to facebook, so they are there too. I think you can also upload some to sites such as photobucket, or other photo hosting sites.

I do hope he gets his laptop back
