Queen, Camilla and Duchess of Cambridge visit Fortnums and it makes the headlines!

Now if it was Lidl, that might be news...

Is there a Lidl on Anglesey?

fraiserno · 01/03/2012 14:53

LOL totally agree.
Ah well, she's old enough to do as she pleases really. Lucky for the others in the family.

I think the queen would like Lidl. Sometimes they have riding gear on special offer, and the dog range is excellent.

Oh I was there the other day!

Dang, missed her again

I've just spotted a couple of gems in the article, too:

The Queen spoke to some of the store's workers including Joan Goff, 86, who as a teenager worked at the store during World War II. She said she had seen the Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, during that time.
"She didn't come very often but I did see her in the shop once or twice," said Mrs Goff.
"Today I told her that I had been here when I was 14 and she said, 'how marvellous'."

Fortnums employs 86 year olds?
The queen says 'How marvellous'.
I wonder how many times a day the queen smiles and says 'How marvellous...'

I suppose it was her corner shop when a girl; before her father became King, they lived at 145 Piccadilly.
