Here. Though not sure if there's anything to say about it, other than what an awful awful thing to happen.

OMG. That's terrible.

LeBOF · 29/02/2012 19:52

All anybody knows for sure is that he died accidentally after being hit on the head by a cricket ball. The story about a mass brawl is hearsay at the moment.

OhBuggerandArse · 29/02/2012 19:57

I suppose there's nothing sensible to say if there's no clear picture of what happened yet.

Makes one shiver, though - mine are still small, and school still a rather cuddly gentle sort of place for them. Hard to think of the later years and the possibility that it could be somewhere which could get so out of hand.

this happened in a school in my district, this is the first ive heard of a mass brawl, from what ive heard the daily mail article is more accurrate

very very sad dont really want to say / detail to much as its not my place, but a tragic accident feel for kyles family and also the boy involved with the ball

its really unsettled the whole school and the community,a terrible thing to happen

EdithWeston · 01/03/2012 11:42

I felt hollow reading about this; it's so sad.

I suppose the circumstances will emerge at his Inquest, or if charges are brought. It must be very hard for the school, especially as it does seem there were a number of participants in the events surrounding his death.

mummylin2495 · 10/03/2012 16:19

There have been no charges to answer, the coroner has said it was a tragic accident. And as far as i know ,it wasnt a brawl ,just a load of teenagers mucking around. My gd attends the girls school next door to Kyles and was a friend of his.A terrible thing to of happened and i actually feel very sorry for both families involved.

TheCrackFox · 10/03/2012 16:39

Obviously incredibly sad for the boy's family but also sad for the other teenagers involved. I didn't believe the reports about a mass brawl as I assumed it was the usual teenage exuberance but this will be a defining moment in their lives.

mummylin2495 · 10/03/2012 16:58

It seems that Kyle just walked inthe direct line that the ball was thrown. Its a terrible tragedy for all involved.I have heard that the boy who actually threw the ball was one of Kyles best friends.Awful for him and his family too.I am glad there will not be any charges against him.

Horrible and tragic - awful for his poor friends and family.

I was hit on the head by a hockey ball at school - accident, it had gone off the pitch and a dunderhead threw it back in over a fence. Gave me concussion.

RabidEchidna · 13/03/2012 18:46

Tragic

EmmaCate · 13/03/2012 18:54

That's awful; his poor family and best friend.

I would have been surprised a throw was powerful enough to kill if it weren't for the fact that I recently took a hit to the face with a ballpit ball thrown by a talented 3 or 4 year old...

The author George Burrows wrote that he knew of boys fighting to the death in 1880s Edinburgh. They had no weapons. Human nature doesn't change .
