I never brought any in the first place, I'm nut an ignorant luddite nor a fashion sheep.

I prefer to get value for my money.

Was just shocked by news reports re the factory and quite ashamed I knew nowt about it and that we purchased an ipod for ds1 for Christmas.Just seems so difficult to keep up with accurate and up to date ethical issues in retail etc.

Its not just Apple. You'd have to avoid a whole load of companies including Nokia, Intel, HP and Samsung.

like the aesthetics,functionality,comparability with other products

Well, really, anyone of the impression that China has their human and workers rights in order is out to lunch basically.....

as a consumer I chose which goods are desirable or I want/need
now if someone doesn't want to buy apple, nestle,whatever....up to them
I make an informed choice based on desirability,price,functionality. and frankly everyone in first world consumer country has some item sourced cheaply in competitive market conditions.unless you live in a fair trade commune, ethically sourced blah blah
