This is news because even though the cuts are not even in full flow even at this early stage many are suffering and the economy is a mess. Once this really bites we will see the full effect. Lost jobs means lost homes. These repossessed houses will be cheap thus setting the tone for prices to fall and this will mean many in negative equity. We have seen nothing yet. There is an interesting article in the guardian today about the wealth divide. This was caused by labour funding the poor from public money and allowing the rich to flourish at the top with little regulation. Now that the Tories are putting the boot in at the bottom the top are looking richer than ever. It is a mess for sure.

The economy is shrinking, inflation is 4.2%, the unemployment is at its highest since 1995 and gross government debt is rising. Might I suggest that this is not a time to remove aggregate demand from the economy?

Despite Dave and Gideon's statement these are ideological cunts.

MammaBrussels · 06/02/2012 09:14

Freudian slip! Ideological cuts*! Grin

claig · 06/02/2012 09:48

Thank God you corrected that, MammaBrussels. I am all for forthright debate, but I have never heard them described as ideological before.

telsa · 06/02/2012 09:55

MammaBrussels - the unconscious speaks truly, if politically incorrectly.

claig · 06/02/2012 10:07

The superego should control the unconscious, because the id is odd, and it made me choke on coffee.

I think mine might suffer from Tourettes!

AmberLeaf · 06/02/2012 13:56
