Any news on the whale? Poor thing, they were talking about killing it to stop it suffering, there must be a way to get it back out to sea!

Aren't they putting it on a barge, or something? Bankok Post has reported that it's been rescued - here .

BadHair · 21/01/2006 17:12

Already been rescued, I should have said. They seem to be getting ahead of themselves. Perhaps it's the time difference!

FFS there are people on the streets of London STARVING.......

Report

Whilst I get your point, I think it's pretty amazing. Even if the poor whale doesn't survive, Humanity has done it's very best here. And how nice that people are getting so excited over something that doesn't involve January Sales, or new PlayStations, or worse. It's a positive thing, one way or another.

They wouldn't have eaten the bloody whale though would they??

I really hope it survives the journey back out to sea, I think the efforts of the rescue workers has been brilliant and agree that it's lovely to see how the plight of this animal has gripped so many, I am a huge animal lover

Comparing this to people starving on the streets is irrelevant imo but is the stock answer of non animal lovers when anything like this happens.Letting the whale perish will not help anyone and it has as much right to be rescued as any other living thing (ps don't shoot me I have been at cafe rouge for lunch and have had 3 large glasses of red!)

Lets not also forget that we're all part of the 'chain' of nature (lost the word I'm looking for but hopefully you understand me LOL). This is an endangered species - if we don't make the effort to save those that we have an opportunity to save - when our grandchildren are old there'll be none left!
