Newt Gingrich's 3 marriages mean he will make a strong president - really

My jaw has dropped so far it has hit the floor.

The best quote is "When three women want to sign on for life with a man who is now running for president, I worry more about whether we?ll be clamoring for a third Gingrich term, not whether we?ll want to let him go after one."

It's Fox News - sorry.

He looks like the love-child of Benny Hill and Jeanette Crankie. To misquote Mrs Merton... 'what first attracted you to the millionaire Newt Gingrich?'

I love the way the journalist immediately contradicts himself

the affairs are not a sign that he would 'cheat on america' but every other part of his sordid personal life is a good sign and are signs he would be a great president! Riiiight....

Good grief! What a bananas article Confused

vj32 · 23/01/2012 18:52

Well, its Newt or Mitt for the Republicans. Why do Americans do this to their children?

Seabright · 23/01/2012 20:52

Didn't he leave the first and second wives when they were diagnosed with serious illnesses?

If I was the current Mrs G, I'd be taking a lot of multi-vitamins

CheerfulYank · 24/01/2012 05:53

Mitt is not Mitt's real name, he's a Will. Not a William though, Willard I think.

And I don't know if it will be either of them...might as well hand Obama the presidency on either count. :)

Mimishimi · 24/01/2012 06:11

At least he will have the fortitude to send other people's sons to die in Iran ;). He's going to win the next election.

nooka · 24/01/2012 06:15

Good lord, that writer thinks that it is admirable that Newt dumped his first two wives because he told them in a way that was 'direct and unsparing' how he didn't love them any more and wanted to shack up with someone else with someone else who he had already been shagging.

Fox journalists really are just staggeringly stupid - see how direct and unsparing I was there - sign me up for president too! Hmm

BelfastBloke · 24/01/2012 06:23

Have you seen Newt Gingrich's ? The ending is incredible.

When did the meaning of 'skill' change into 'weakness'?

nooka · 24/01/2012 06:31

I see from Wikipedia his defense was ""There's no question at times in my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate." So it was America's fault he was repeatedly unfaithful. Claiming that your patriotism caused your lack of personal ethics is at the very least interesting...

"Claiming that your patriotism caused your lack of personal ethics is at the very least interesting..."

The latter just may be one of the most important qualifications for the job at the moment ...

Also, at the time he was trying to impeach Clinton for infidelity, he was shagging someone he wasn't married to. Hypocrit? Much?
