here is the link

finally a blood test now available to screen all living human beings for vCJD (human mad cow disease), lets hope this will 'finally' stop the spread of human BSE. Is this too good to be true, lets wait & see?

Having a chat to a friend about this new blood test, it will mean that if you have a blood transfusion and you subsequently fall ill with vCJD because your donor was infected you could take court action, where as up until now this has not been possible.
In the past if you became ill from eating contaminated food in a restaurant you could sue the restaurant but if you become ill with Human BSE you could not sue anyone, lets hope this new blood test changes everything, it has to as there is no cure for vCJD and there has been no justice for vCJD victims.

Given that vCJD doesn't show itself for many years how on earth could you sue a restaurant that you ate in 20+ years ago. How could you prove this meal was the exact cause?

And surely if they screen all new blood using this test then any contaiminated blood would now not be used?

Also there no justice for victims of cancer, or heart disease, or strokes, or any other disease that kills you.

People's lifestyles contribute to their illnesses such as cancer, strokes, heart disease, but you dont expect to die 8 - 20 years after eating beef, or being exposed to blood transfusions, contact with stainless steel surgical instruments, baby food, gelatine, vaccines all of which at some point between 1980 - 1996 contained infectious bse prions, and even today it is still possible to be infected via some of these routes. Nobody has been held accountable for the deaths of so many people from vcjd, it is just so wrong and unfair.

How many people have died from CJD and vCJD over and above those who died before the BSE crisis (allowing for better technical diagnosis?)
not many
such stories hit the news when research teams are reapplying for funding
there has not been, is not and very likely will not be a CJD epidemic.
