child penicilin doses should be reviewd

says the bbc

they say it is complicated to convert the weight of the child into the proper dose.
but I have seen "weight syringes" in another country. basically instead of ml they show the weight and you fill the syringe up until the weight mark your child is weighing. why is that not possible here?

I half heard something on the news about this today.

I was Shock at a comment that average children (age unspecified) are 7kg heavier than the average when the doses were drawn up. Even allowing for the choice of the widest difference for dramatic effect - that's over a stone and a heck of a lot.
