Announced last week that she'd lost her 20th baby, a girl, the family have named it Jubilee Shalom and plan a funeral on Wednesday. Michelle was advised to have the miscarriage naturally at home, which happened Sunday evening.

Sad

She was 19+1 when the miscarriage was discovered during a routine ultrasound, the baby had stopped growing at 16 weeks.

My condolences to her and her family.
But why have you posted this? Miscarriages aren't a spectactor sport to be goggled at.

Fishpond · 12/12/2011 18:31

It's 'in the news' - and it has sparked a controversy as this came at the same time that the seventh billion birth was announced. I obviously wasn't goggling at her and find it distasteful that you have equated me as doing so.

Why not send condolences to the family via an online site? I have.

I remember Lily Allen's miscarriage being posted on here at the time it happened. Hmm

Nothing wrong with this being posted here.

Nothing wrong with it being here-it is a news story. I feel sorry for the Duggars, I lost 2 babies late and it is horrific. With my 2nd late loss, I already had 4 children and it was still horrific, doesn't matter how many children you already have so it will still hit them hard. Hopefully they will find out why it happened.

How awful Sad
I do have to wonder though with all of the complications with her las pregnancy and now this whether her body is telling her she has had enough?

The Duggars have very much made their lives & especially their life choices public property.
Since they have the (much publicised) attitude of letting God decide when they stop making babies, I hope that they don't suffer badly for that choice. Maybe they can take the m/c in stride as God's choice, too? Is that how they think? Genuine question.

Michelle is exactly the sort of age when her risk of m/c soars, I think? Presuming she can get pg at all. They could be in for a few rounds of this experience. :(

She is 45, I was surprised when they announced the pregnancy. And of course all the complications with the last baby. They have said that they believe the mc is God's decision - that he gives life and can take away too, and that they will see Jubilee and their first mc (from 23 years ago) in heaven. Sad

Oh, and it took them over 18 months to conceive after their last experience when Josie came 4 months early due to pre-eclampsia. She had said previously it had never taken her longer than 9-12 months to conceive before.

It's very sad but I find it quite surprising that out of 22 pregnancies, they have only lost two.

tryingtoleave · 13/12/2011 07:08

Yes, I think they have had amazingly good luck to have 18 healthy children. Now they are pushing their luck.

Yuuule · 13/12/2011 10:35

So sad. :(

NeedlesCuties · 15/12/2011 09:16

Oh, when I saw this title I thought you meant she'd lost 20 babies to miscarriage. I understand now.
