I find this incredible. Bush and Blair have been found guilty of war crimes against humanity under the same laws that found Hitler guilty of the same. If they travel to the countries involved (I forget which ones sorry, i'm still reeling from the video!) they face arrest. Yet this happened on the 24th November and have you seen it on the news??

This video is from a Malyasian news channel reporting it on the 24th that sdomeone has managed to find - please share it on FB or anywhere else you can - we cant allow the government to censor this historical news!!

George W. Bush cancels visit to Swiss charity gala over fears he could be arrested on torture charges

mainly about Bush and Blair forging documents faking the sightings of
weapons of mass destruction

I never got that anyway. Who made them the world police? IT's a country's sovereign right to develop weapons, and Israel has illegal weapons of mass destruction and nobody is knocking on their door, but Iraq didn't even have any in the first place!

Wow. I'm not sure what status the Malaysian tribunal has under international law - presumably they are still a very long way off indeed actually having Bush and Blair arrested. And how can they find them guilty without B&B having had a chance to enter a defence?

edam · 27/11/2011 13:30

I doubt very much it's overt censorship by Western governments though - I think people saying that are getting a bit carried away. More likely Malaysian courts are not that high up the news agenda. Although I DO think it should be reported.

JaxV · 27/11/2011 17:36

I dont Edam, sounds like breaking news to me regardless!

It's easy to find - no censorship whatsoever.

Here, for example, is the AFP article.

I think the key words in it might be "mock tribunal" and "purely symbolic".

HappyCamel · 27/11/2011 17:41

Given that Malaysia is a Muslim country with serious problems around religious freedom I wouldn't expect that to have been an unbiased verdict.

Ryoko · 27/11/2011 17:46

Right so all we need to do is is lure Blair into someones embassy with promises of a fat cheque for a after dinner speech and we'll have him.

Let justice be done.

JaxV · 27/11/2011 18:30

Hmm ok I admit I didnt realise it was a mock tribunal and held no legal sway - feeling a tad foolish now but I acted on impulse and I do love a good political scandal!

It does surely highlight though that given all the evidence, they could well be found guilty! I dont think it makes any difference being a muslim country to be fair.

ah, that explains it then. Shame!

scaryteacher · 27/11/2011 20:13

I'm not sure that a mock tribunal would have all the evidence. It does make a difference it being a Muslim country.
