I posted on the chat thread - but for ease of reference for anyone who comes to this one:

From The Telegraph website: about 1,800 jars are being recalled (following the hospitalisation of two people in Scotland with botulism):

"The recall involves 350g jars of Loyd Grossman Korma sauce with a 'best before' date of February 2013. The sauce has a batch code of: 1218R 07:21, which can be found on the neck of the bottle".

EdithWeston · 14/11/2011 06:46

I've just seen this on the Breakfast news.

They say it's just this one batch - indeed they have only found one contaminated jar so far - but tests at the factory are continuing. Botulism us very rare, and you can't tell from appearance of food if it is contaminated.

bump.

Hard copy of The Telegraph satsuma the recall is 57,000 jars.

Definitely worth checking your cupboards!

EdithWeston · 14/11/2011 10:12

CuriousCrissyRock4QueenMama · 14/11/2011 10:56

I've got two of his thai curry sauce in the cupboard, would anyone else eat his other products?

I must say I am a bit wary now......

CuriousCrissyRock4QueenMama · 14/11/2011 14:48

I know what you mean.

I just called the number on the jar, the woman who answered said the korma came from a completely different company and location.
In itself, I think that's quite interesting isn't it?
I said "So he doesn't cook all these sauces on his Aga at home then?" Grin and she said, no, there's no contact relationship with the two sauces......

But still, would you eat it?

CuriousCrissyRock4QueenMama · 14/11/2011 14:58

Best to make our own eh? Wink

mrszimmerman · 14/11/2011 15:05

do you make your own green curry sauce?

(throws herself bodily to the floor out of violent respect)

CuriousCrissyRock4QueenMama · 14/11/2011 15:22

mrszimmerman · 14/11/2011 16:38

CuriousCrissyRock4QueenMama · 14/11/2011 19:35

Believe me if you saw how easy it is you'd not be impressed Grin

OP posts:
mrszimmerman · 15/11/2011 15:42

we've actually got four other jars of his sauces and dh says he wants me to get rid, that is a bit mad isn't it?

EdithWeston · 15/11/2011 15:44

Does he believe you want to murder him?

CuriousCrissyRock4QueenMama · 15/11/2011 20:49

Think this will be very detrimental to poor old Lloyd.
