gang of boys guilty of sex assault at school freed from bail conditions to go back to school!

London evening standard reports a bunch of 12 yo boys found guilty of sexual assault on a 12 yo girl just outside the school gates. But they have all been freed from bail conditions ahead of sentencing to allow them to return to school! What the hell?

Law requires them to be in education.... What do you expect them to do?

Home tuition or pupil referral unit, Tiff. What about the girl's education?

What frightens me is that it is not stated which school has the dubious pleasure of educating these boys while they await sentence. I do hope they have not remained st the same school as their victim. Hope the boys have been separated from her and from each other too.

It doesn't mention it , but you would hope they had a managed move to other schools!!

I wonder what reason the judge gave for the decision to put them back in MS schooling without a second thought.

I really hope they haven't been allowed to go back to the same school but it sounds like they have. Poor girl!

To be honest I'm disappointed that the judge has said he doesn't think the attack was about sex but rather humiliation. Er, they exposed themselves, rubbed themselves up against her, groped her between her legs and fondled her breasts. How is that not sexual?

I would guess the judge released them back into local education authority. Lea put them into available school( hope not the previous one)

Pupil referral units just dont have the resources and lea's are cash strapped. All down to money!

Actually that was the bit I thought he had got right, Viva. It was about humiliating her. But then he went on to say "I do not believe these are the actions of a gang intent upon causing serious harm, this was about bullying through sexual behaviour." Sexual bullying does cause serious harm, and the boys should be punished as severely as possible.
This has made me so angry.

I really hope someone is telling her classmate (who chased them off) what a good thing he did.

They were actually 11 at the time of the attack, so very young which is why i am guessing he said it was not sexually motivated.Perhaps the school is very large and they can be kept apart from the victim.Poor girl!
