Heather McCartney has given birth to a baby boy, one month earlier than expected.

I saw an interview of Heather not too long ago on Larry King Live and when Larry said 'Paul already has three children ...' she jumped right in and corrected him saying 4 actually and you could tell she was annoyed - which I thought was very sweet - esp given all the rumours about the kids not getting on with her.

Which hospital did she have the baby at? I heard on the news this morning that it was somewhere in West London and that she had a c-section. Mind you, the report I heard on the radio said they had a boy!!!

LucieB she had the baby at St Elizabeth and St David's hospital, c/s due to all the metal plates in her pelvis following her accident.

AussieSim thats good to hear!!! Just seems rude of the press to say 3 children, especially as he adopted Heather when he married Linda.

pie · 30/10/2003 13:48

ooops meant St John's and St Elizabeths...don't know where David came from!

GeorginaA · 30/10/2003 13:52

It's a little girl and they have called her Beatrice Milly McCartney.

Awwwww

elliott · 30/10/2003 13:59

I have noticed that the media never acknowledge adopted children as 'real' children - they are always qualified by 'adopted' - it must be v v frustrating for the children and their parents.

btw, if she was due the end of Nov, the earliest she could have known she was pg is late March (I am due 3 Dec adn had my blood test to confirm pg around 25 March, which would have been the absolute earliest)

Ghosty · 30/10/2003 19:17

New Zealand Herald says Boy born 4 weeks early by c-section .... but them the NZ herald is totally pants paper ...
If the baby was due end Nov then she would have conceive mid Feb - end Feb
DS was due end Nov and I definitely conceived around 24th Feb ...

slighly off topic , well with a different couple. Are Prince Edward and Sophie expecting or did I make that up? Due in December maybe? Hasn't been anything in the news about it at all?

aloha · 30/10/2003 20:14

It was the Scottish Daily Record that broke the story - but their in-hospital mole got the sex wrong - Piers Morgan of The Mirror was on Radio 4 saying, basically, 'well, babies look the same' - which is kind of true, but no excuse! Apparently this was the story that got syndicated round the world. She did have a girl. Only three weeks early though, which is not considered premature. Ds was 37 weeks, and 8lb 8oz and very healthy.

janh · 30/10/2003 22:58

This is the Guardian's account of how it was reported...

She was actually born on Tuesday!

LOL SueW ...
Gone back on my dates ... DS was due 23rd November ... LMP was 16th Feb ... Was sure that conception was 24th Feb (Day 8????) but quite possible that I was wrong ... we weren't trying and DH was working away from home so we only saw eachother at weekends!!!
(He was eventually born on Nov 30th) ...

singingmum · 02/11/2003 12:27
