His office at Houses of parliament should have an email address - I have emailed my MP and it was quite easy although I can't remember the House of Commons website address which has all the how to contact your MP details. GB is MP for somewhere in Fife, I think, so you could also try his constituency office in Scotland.

Mooma · 28/10/2003 19:23

If you go to this House of Commons you will find a list of MPs and email links. It does warn you that the MP might not respond if it isn't about constituency business, but it's worth a try!

codswallop · 28/10/2003 19:35

ok I have sent the link - dunno if he will ever read it, or the link but there you are. maybe we should have posted it to his home adress

This is also a very good way to contact your MP and there is follow up on whether you get a reply or not and they are ranked by their responsiveness.

How lovely to say thank you when he must be really busy right now. Have warm glow and I didn't even contribute to the thread.

Angeliz · 12/11/2003 23:49

it's lovely, shouted dp in to see...bless them

CountessDracula · 12/11/2003 23:54

How lovely is that? Thanks

lilibet · 13/11/2003 00:03

dp thinks its someone taking the piss, I know its not. Tell him!!!

bobthebaby · 13/11/2003 00:48

That's very cynical, why would anyone do that?

fisil · 13/11/2003 08:23

I think it's lovely - and I refuse to believe it's anyone taking the piss

SoupDragon · 13/11/2003 08:28

I'm not convinced it's genuine - would he try to put a grinning smiley at the end?

Angeliz · 13/11/2003 08:49

it crossed my mind but i thought no-one would be so thoughtless since we all posted lovely messages to him Why shouldn't he reply, my dp was over the moon

WideWebWitch · 13/11/2003 08:57

Hmm, could anyone really be arsed to impersonate him just to say thanks? Dunno what I think, maybe it is genuine, can mumsnet tell us though?

codswallop · 13/11/2003 09:19

cant we ask TecH?

OP posts:
codswallop · 13/11/2003 09:20

why did "he" reply on this thread and not the happy new one?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 13/11/2003 09:34

Given my performance on the "changing nicknames" thread, I'd like to make it clear that I am NOT GordonBrownMP!

sykes · 13/11/2003 09:45

I really can't believe he'd put a smiling face, how sad, either I'm too cynical or someone is being rather unpleasant.

codswallop · 13/11/2003 09:59

its prob a constituency lacky.

OP posts:
coppertop · 13/11/2003 10:08

I'd like to think it was genuine but I can't really see GB going through the registration process, waiting for a password, then coming back to find the thread. Wouldn't he just e-mail the person who forwarded the thread?

codswallop · 13/11/2003 10:08

thats me - maybe I deleted it in all my hotmail spam/porn

coppertop · 13/11/2003 10:13

Just noticed the time. Would he be contacting MN at 11.30pm? LOL Coddy!
