Horrifying, and one of the worst things seem to be that the police have been bought off.

So very shocking :( Have signed and posted on FB, if only more could be done :(

jetgirl · 12/10/2011 13:49

Bump

norriscoleforpm · 12/10/2011 13:59

I have signed it and put it on my fb page too. How can this be happening still? :(

JustCallMeMrsTeabag · 12/10/2011 14:27

Have signed the Petition and added on my fb page to encourage others to read article and take positive action.

hmc · 12/10/2011 19:45

Bumping this - have just read about it on facebook (am a 'friend' of World Vision) - so much for MN fashionable disdain for fb but that is another matter. Anyway have signed the Jubilee petition. It seems so little and impotent an action but it is something at least. If the signatory list becomes huge perhaps not only the President of Uganda but others will take heed (and take action)

Notquitegrownup · 12/10/2011 20:13

Yes, the petition total is creeping up - 600 or so have signed today (mostly from the UK, though the US is starting to join in now.) It would be great if we could get another 400 tonight - 1000 a day for ten days would be a good target for the petition, I think . . . .

Solopower · 12/10/2011 20:35

Signed. Sad

Rainbow12 · 12/10/2011 21:45

Bumping this - petition signed and MP emailed. This is truly horrific ...

jetgirl · 12/10/2011 22:02

Bumping again.

This has really got to me and it is so important that we continue to raise awareness of this.

blackoutthesun · 12/10/2011 22:02

bump again

hmc · 12/10/2011 22:16

Bump - disappointed that it's taken some effort to keep this thread in active conversations

bushymcbush · 12/10/2011 22:19

Signed.

jetgirl · 12/10/2011 22:22

Me too hmc. I'm watching BBC news now and there's another truly shocking report on child trafficking from Uganda. How anyone could watch and not feel moved is beyond me.
I'm off to bed but will bump again when I'm up in the morning and when I get the opportunity at work tomorrow.

bushymcbush · 12/10/2011 22:39

Bump

Blueberties · 12/10/2011 22:48

Good morning Ladies. Disappointing that the BBC news didn't point people towards the petition, but hope that we can keep circulating this amongst our contacts and via facebook. (My dh pointed out that Liverpool fc have 6 million people following them on facebook, so if we could just tap into a group like that to publicise this issue and this petition . . . !)

The more people who read the report and who spread the word the better.
I'm surprised too that more Mnetters haven't responded. As a mum of boys the same age as those on the newsreports, it just tore me apart . . .

hmc · 13/10/2011 10:36

Bump - come on mumsnetters!

Blueberties · 13/10/2011 10:54

bump
