it is sickening what goes on out there. i was working on special care baby ward and there was a really nice couple with premmie twins, they took them home and then a few week later one of the twins was admitted to a&e, after nearly drowning in boilingh water, burns to his little face and body and internally where they reckon he had been held under the water.

so so sad, you never would have suspected it, turned out it was the dad and he had a record of violence and abuse, although not towards children previously.

i cried my heart out, the poor little thing.

Words fail me for things like this. How could anyone do that to a baby? How could she stay there with him, and not take the baby and run? It makes me so angry and so sad.

Why not just drop the baby off at a police station/hospital/fire station, etc. if you don't want it and walk away?

I never understood that. Don't want it, don't like to hear its cry, rather do drugs than feed it, etc.? Take it to hospital, the police, etc., tell them you can't cope, and walk off.

I just feel so devestated and sad. I just looked at my own beautiful little girl (6 months) and I just can't understand how anyone could do those things to a child. I just can't speak - I have tears in my eyes. It is awful. Just awful.

The story of the newborn twins abandoned in Birmingham is a sad one but if their mother knew she wasn't capable of caring for them, she is doing the right thing. (Though obviously leaving them outside in December wasn't a good idea.) Those two now have the chance of a good life, unlike this tragic little girl .
