I didn't have or want a choice in my children's gender so it's nothing to be smug about. I don't think any of my parenting decisions are based on my children's gender either. Neither are their toys or books. Ok, they wear girl's clothes as well as neutrals, but if I had boys I wouldn't stop them from picking the glitter fairy costume out of a dressing up box at playgroup.
If anything, I was always very annoyed during my second pregnancy when people suggested that I really must be hoping to have a boy this time, so I'd have one of each, or asked if we'd go for a third pregnancy should we have another girl.
