mrsdonkeybucket · 08/07/2011 15:31

I am never shopping at Tesco's again.

I am disgusted at their attitude.

It's because one of the top exec's at Tesco sit's on BSkyB's board.

Ponders · 08/07/2011 15:31

We are sorry this did not please everybody

this suggests they think it did please some people? How naive

mrsdonkeybucket · 08/07/2011 15:31

Is the whole lot going do you think ?

ThisIsANiceCage · 08/07/2011 15:31

Ponders · 08/07/2011 15:33

(or maybe I could just unravel some old thing for the knitters to use. much easier)

mrsdonkeybucket · 08/07/2011 15:33

Ofcom to 'discuss' NOTW investigation with police so that it can decide whether News Corp.is a "fit and proper" owner of BSkyB.

Are they really that thick ?

freybean · 08/07/2011 15:33

yep am thick - meant *think

Ponders · 08/07/2011 15:34

is the Star Mirror group?

mrsdonkeybucket · 08/07/2011 15:34

I don't think it is, but is associated by Clive Goodman.

Bringing the industry into disrepute ?

chipstick10 · 08/07/2011 15:34

I cannot tell a lie, i still watch sky and sky news especially. Hubby still purchased the sun today. If that makes me a bad person then so be it. As i have stated, i agree with greg dyke, the hypocricy from the mp's has been quite staggering. More of Hugh Grant please, and no one party can look themselves in the eye. Thats my opinion for what its worth.

mrsdonkeybucket · 08/07/2011 15:35

Daily Star owners, 'Northern and Shell' say police have left with emails.....

Ponders · 08/07/2011 15:37

oh it's Desmond?

freybean · 08/07/2011 15:37

ah right - have caught up now Smile

Ponders · 08/07/2011 15:37

Express Group. they're pretty low too Hmm

headfairy · 08/07/2011 15:39

hahaha, NI have asked the BBC for £250 per image to reproduce old front pages of the NoTW. Bloody cheeky aren't they?

I'm worried about the PCC

Any successor organisation is going to end up with huge and untrammelled power to silence journalists maybe even bloggers based in this country

I don't want to have to find stuff out via wikileaks in future, I rely on a free press not outliers like Julian Assange

erebus · 08/07/2011 15:41

Help! What have Tesco got to do with this? Am keen to know! And with a crowd of Inset-ed boys in the house I can't read 47 pages of this OP!
Thanks!

headfairy · 08/07/2011 15:42

I posted this at 14.38..

"Does anyone know if the Express Group pulling out of the PCC is connected in any way to this? It was back in January, but I wonder if they knew the screw was tightening on the methods the red tops use to get stories so pulled out of the PCC?"

I'm starting to think they're connected....

Tesco pathetically failed to withdraw advertising from the NotW, erebus (while it still existed Hmm)

mrsdonkeybucket · 08/07/2011 15:44

erebus

Tesco would not pull ads from NOTW. Lots of people boycotting.

LadyBlaBlah · 08/07/2011 15:44

I do wonder what the point of all this phone hacking was. It's not like they ever had any good stories from it anyway.

I imagine that hacking a phone voicemail would go something like this....."Hi, LadyBB, it's me, call me back"

No-one ever leaves anything of any significance on a voicemail do they?

I don't quite get it all - and why they went to so much trouble to do it.

mrsdonkeybucket · 08/07/2011 15:46

Journalist on TV this morning said all it is about is front page news.

erebus · 08/07/2011 15:47

Thanks MrsDonkey, re Tesco.

Is that because someone high up in Tesco-CEO?- sits on the board of BSkyB or similar? Is that the thinking?
