How many of you were aware of this? Why is this not all over the news on tv and newspapers?

I have not seen this campaign promoted in national newspapers or on Tv. Have I just 'missed it' or is lack of national coverage a reflection of the fact that wider society simply do not care what happens to people with learning disabilities?

I've missed it too. It says a lot.

Crucially, Learning Disability Awareness week focusses on hate crime against people with learning disabilities. Anyone who watched the Panorama programme on the torture at Winterbourne View in Bristol will know that people with learning disabilities need so much more protection, in homes and in the community.

A missed opportunity

Just you and me then Bakelite?
A definite lack of 'awareness' or perhaps interest?
How depressing.

Seems there is stuff going on but how widely known about?
At least along term campaign re focussing on hate crime against people with learning disabilities.
