Oh very sad, I watched a documentary about Tom a while ago and that is the first I knew his dad was ill

He so wanted to make it to next year to see his son compete in the London Olympics. So sad

I am really sad about this. I too have watched documentaries on them and his Dad was so lovely. Such a shame, and so sad he won't see Tom at the Olympics next year. Too sad for words really.

I've seen this today and it's so sad, all the family seemed so down to earth and loving when there was a programme about Tom and his family about 18 month ago?; I can remeber the program was marked as a must see and the reviewer said his dad was the highlight of the programme as he seemed such a genuinely lovely funny bloke.

Thoughts are with his wife and three children x x x
