oh she writes any old nonsense to get herself noticed. ignore .

paolosgirl · 12/11/2005 21:10

She's always spouting this sort of crap - it's getting boring now. I think she thinks she's being controversial - yawnnnnnnn...

piffle · 12/11/2005 21:11

Yeah well not like she needs 3 kids to put anyone off sex with her is it now

hunkermunker · 12/11/2005 21:11

Starved of any kind of affection, poor love.

Bet she has cobwebs up there.

jenk1 · 12/11/2005 21:22

who is she? can anyone post a picture of her, im intrigued

piffle · 12/11/2005 21:25

here

The lovely Ms Burchill

franke · 12/11/2005 21:29

I think many of her columns are written with the sole intention of having a dig at her ex.

UCM · 12/11/2005 21:30

Does she have kids, I got confused with the last bit, didn't know what she was banging on about....?

piffle · 12/11/2005 21:31

who was it, has he admitted that he was with her or is he a fiction for decent copy...
hmmm thoroughly bitchy but she is ghastly person

UCM · 12/11/2005 21:32

Errrm just read it, she must have been terribly hurt by this man. Possibly doesn't have kids and is just barkingly mad about the 'whole happy family syndrome. Very Bitter.

Clayhead · 12/11/2005 21:34

Doesn't she have 2 sons with different ex-husbands and walked out on them both (sons that is)?

franke · 12/11/2005 21:36

I don't really know that much about her but didn't she have a very public divorce from Tony Parsons and the grudge has continued to this day? She then came out and I don't know what she thinks she is now. But I know she lives in Hove. I don't think hse has any kids (she wouldn't have written this if she did).

franke · 12/11/2005 21:40

here you go You're roght, she does have sons - I'm speechless.

tallulah · 13/11/2005 09:50

I think the telling phrase here is "Both sons live with their fathers".

Windermere · 13/11/2005 10:45

If it is this easy to get paid for writing crap then I think I will become a journalist! What a vile old bag, the bit about babies bits made me feel quite sick.

wessexgirl · 13/11/2005 15:15

I don't think she's ever been accused of maturity. She was once described, prob in the Daily Mail, as Britain's Worst Mother, and has responded to this by rejecting and scorning everything to do with motherhood in her writing.

It's pretty clear that the problem is hers, not ours [winks].

Tortington · 13/11/2005 15:43

if she has had the sadness without the plesure of course this is going to be her standpoint. i think most children are vile, sometimes even my own. i don't think parenthood is to be aspired to.

i like julies writing on the whole. however i found this disjointed - it didn't read easily - i found i was skipping lines at a time through instant boredom.

maybe thats the reason i dont understand this. why did the begining of the article start with the very interesting premise that we should thank working class people for shagging and producing babies whilst their middle class counterparts were not - producing babies - maybe a plum up their arse has something to do with the former

then turn into a whole monologue about baby sick and stuff to do with children being generally repulsive?

surely if she feels that way her first premise - that we should thank WC shaggers has been self negated.

silly bitch - shes much better than this usually.

Caligula · 13/11/2005 16:59

She's always silly when writing about babies, parenthood, motherhood etc.

Bit like the pope writing about sex isn't it, la Burchill writing about mothering.
