Allegations that the Met peddled lies about Mr Tomlinson, who was unlawfully killed just for walking past the G20 protests two years ago.

This wasn't one bad apple - it runs through the organisation. While I'm sure there are plenty of good coppers, they need to have a good hard look at how the whole organisation operates, and make sure they tell the truth to the public from now on. There was similar misinformation when they killed Jean Charles de Menezes so clearly this is not a one-off.

Makes me sick Angry

Did I really see somewhere that senior police officers had attended the first postmortem (the one done by their bent tame pathologist) and 'guided' him in his findings?

Ugh.

It's the MET. It's always the MET and this time they're blaming the City of London Police. They really haven't changed much since the 70s/80s, except they've got the useless IPCC and ACPO to hide behind now.

I wonder if Police Officers up and down the rest of country can actually believe the crap the MET gets away with and am very, very pleased I don't have to live in London and put up with their dangerous macho crap.

Yup, certainly the Met seems to have a macho attitude. I remember when West Mids police managed to arrest some suspected terrorists without anyone getting hurt or too much drama while the Met had shot the son of someone they tried to arrest - in a dawn raid when he was asleep in bed, fgs. The then head of the Met, Ian Blair, slagged off West Mids - obviously thought they'd shown him up. IIRC the Met's suspect was never charged with anything...
