He will only end up in Europe starting underpant wars

It's a ha of satisfaction and Schadenfreude. Can't bear the man. And I was absolutely incredulous that the govt thought they could get away with him breaking all the sleaze rules that they introduced because of the Major government's disgraceful shenanigans and no-one would notice. Blunkett was obviously utterly dishonest in this whole affair, and it was unbelievable that he wasn't immediately sacked for what he did.

I have no time at all for Blunkett - a demagogic and dangerous man - but I thought this article by Polly Toynbee was interesting. She points out that Blunkett has been more liberal and compassionate about incapacity benefit than Blair would like him to be. His successor, no doubt some Blairite poodle like Milband, will put the boot into people on IB. here

Nice one!

That 'complete confidence' of Tony's is the kiss of death isn't it? Must strike cold fear into their hearts when they hear him say it.

Perhaps it is code for 'I have complete confidence that you will now resign and not force me to get my hands dirty and sack you.'
