How exactly do you teach atheism? Surely it is simply non belief in a God.

Bunbaker, I think the existence of such a thing often isn't taught. My own children's school (state, very multicultural) seems to start from a default position of belief.

bunbaker They are going to discuss Humanist beliefs and values, which is a specific world view that does not use religion as it's basis. It's as valid as the major religion already taught, and will ensure that the children get a balanced view of world beliefs.

I think it's a positive thing.

Sorry, Bunbaker, I just used the DM headline. I think you can teach about atheism, humanism etc just as you can teach about Xtianity or Islam. I'm delighted to see what they're doing. :)
