Its not letting me link to Sky News website - but its the breaking news.

How awful. Sad

I feel like the world has gone made since the start if this year. It just seems like 1 disaster after another. I cannot believe how many quakes in the world there have been since the start of 2011.

2 quakes in 1 weekend. Myanmar yesterday and then this now.

Thanks Baroque

Nothing on the news I have on at the minute.

Don't have any other words :(

It says it will only be half a metre tall - that doesn't sound dangerous, is it?

Don't forget though that Japan experiences a lot of earthquakes every single year (and Tsunami advisories I believe are now much more common place since Boxing Day 2004). \link{http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Maps/region/Asia_eqs.php\shows Seismic activity in that area}. This appears to be the 7th that has been over 6 in the last week.

Just looked at the Japan Meterological Agency website and the latest Tsnuami advisory (for that particular earthquake - they've had another elsehwere at 2.5 since then) has been cancelled.

Also, don't forget that a Magnitude 6 earthquake is not two thirds of a Magnitude 9. I think it's on a logarithmic scale and an earthquake 3 points higher is hundreds (?thousands) of times more powerful. Don't ask me to explain further cos I am a maths doofus, I just know that it's the same for the hurricane scale.
