I found it difficult to understand Lianne Smith's behaviour anyway, but this makes it even more of a mystery.

i read the article too, it made me feel really angry towards the mother, and she looks so nice and loving in the photograph of the child she killed. how could she ignore her daughter when she told her what her husband was doing to her, she is plain evil. my dh would disagree with me here but i think she should be put to sleep, guilty as hell

we are just more surprised when it is a woman who treats a child so cruelly, because we expect women to be maternal and caring towards children, whereas we accept that not all men are decent and can be abusers.

Some women are so desperate to hang on to their partner that they are happy to bury their head in the sand while their children are being abused. I suspect this woman is one of them.

Yes, but she claimed to have killed those poor youngest two out of maternal love , how twisted is it that did it all because she didn't believe the claims of her daughter? She has destroyed so many lives, and the person she was protecting has been convicted anyway. Insane woman. (Obviously).

Oh I'm not excusing her actions in the slightest.
