Omg, this is sooo tragic. the poor love might be subjected to the legal system in that notorious hell of human rights abuse, Sweden. Has anyone else noticed that in the recent case of the battered woman who was imprisoned for perverting the course of justice by withdrawing (under coercion) rape charges against her husband, all the self-proclaimed defenders of justice in sexual violence cases who lined up for Assange (Pilger,Helena Kennedy, Loach, Bianca Jagger) were noteable by their total absence and silence? Any ideas why that might be, people? Not that I'm cynical, mind.....

Am really confused about the whole thing. Heard an interview with Helena Kennedy, who I respect, and she said that there weren't any charges against him, therefore the extradition order is for questioning and he has made himself available for questioning etc.

Did I get this wrong?

After an ill-tempered match in which the Sewdish side deployed the off-side trap to great effect, and the Australian team almost scored an own goal (Hurtig, 64th minute), the final score was The Saudi Arabia of Feminism 1, Assange 0.

Eldritch, you must not tease the misogynists. They love football. Many worship Wayne Rooney as a god. Please respect their sacred beliefs and rituals in future. It doesn't do to give offence, it is not lady-like.

EldritchCleavage · 24/02/2011 17:14

Don't tell anyone, but I love football too.

Forgot to add to my match report that new signing Helena Kennedy (plays in the hole just in front of the back four) stayed on the bench throughout.

Hopefully the truth will out and whatever transpired will become common knowledge.

But everyone knows that even if he's found to be not guilty there will be theorists explaining why he was guilty and just "Got away with it".

If he is extradited to the US the world will draw the obvious conclusion.
