story here

Thought I would start a separate thread in case people haven't seen this

Glad he has gone, and pleased that Patrick Harvie (Greens) tabled a motion to get rid of him

He is retiring from politics in May anyway, so cheerio Bill.

(He has always been one of the most objectionable characters in Scottish politics imo)

He claimed he was quoted out of context. My arse. A proper apology would have been nice but he can't even do that. Glad he has gone, because, according to him rape simply doesn't exist.

doricpatter · 22/02/2011 09:24

Good riddance. There's no place for attitudes like that in politics.

doggiesayswoof · 22/02/2011 09:26

Indeed, he is still saying he has been misrepresented.

He only admitted he even said what he did after being presented with a transcript of the interview.

Prick.

I'm disappointed - but not surprised - that Annabel Goldie (Scottish tory leader) has not condemned him more strongly.

Good. His " ideas" and attitudes about rape are from the 1930 s, shocking comments.

She's stone age anyway dog. They're a shower of bigoted relics if you ask me.

Yep, they are that doric.

Scottish tories = anachronisms
