Was it Cherie Blair who got rid of Humphrey, the Downing Street cat? I think he was adopted by Maggie Thatcher.

Is it a Conservative thing?

Ooopsadaisy · 15/02/2011 12:21

I am now spending my time googling Downing Street Cat.

There is loads of info on the subject.

Am shocked to discover that Larry looks just like my cat.

Off now to get a life.

KurriKurri · 15/02/2011 12:41

DC getting a cat doesn't realy constitute news IMO.

DC stops talking complete BS would be news.

mistressploppy · 15/02/2011 12:44

Aw, yes, I do think that's lovely!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 15/02/2011 12:46

Humphrey died I thouught six months after TB moved into Downing Street. Can't understand why DC getting a cat made the news headlines on the Today programme though!!

Ormirian · 15/02/2011 12:46

It may not be news but it's the best thing DC has done so far!Grin

rinabean · 15/02/2011 12:47

Even this can't redeem him in my eyes, and I really, really like cats.

Ooopsadaisy · 15/02/2011 12:48

Ormirian - I agree.

I am more interested in Larry than any of the rest of them.

limpingbint · 15/02/2011 12:50

David Cameron is still a cunt, cat or no cat

meditrina · 15/02/2011 13:32

Goodness only knows why this is on the main news; but nice to see Battersea Dogs and Cats Home getting some publicity.

Ooopsadaisy · 15/02/2011 16:34

I agree - it's not really news but the media has always enjoyed reporting on the Downing Street Cat situation as a lighter way to cover politics.

If you like a conspiracy theory, you should read up on what happened to Humphrey.

I particularly enjoy the idea that he disliked Cherie so much that Alistair Campbell had to sedate him in order to orchestrate a photograph to be taken to quell rumours of a rift between them!

If you google that picture you'll see it's the most uncomfortable photo of all time.

I just wish he'd sedated a few others while he was at it.

claig · 15/02/2011 21:29

another fat cat?

scottishmummy · 15/02/2011 21:41

Panzee · 15/02/2011 21:43

Oopsadaisy I found the photos! That cat is so desperate to get away :o :o

bristolcities · 17/02/2011 13:05
