I don't know enough about it to know whether it is exactly true but if it is, large and medium companies will up sticks and move as many operations out of the UK as possible to save being taxed on the money they make overseas.

How the fuck is the government going to increase the amount in its coffers if it gives large tax breaks to the people/companies who earn the most?

To me, it looks as though we should be shouting this from the roof tops to make sure that at least they don't get away with it without anyone noticing!

Good grief. I'm generally cynical about relationships between government and the City but hadn't actually realised quite how brazen they are.

We could keep quite a few libraries and children's centres open with all the money the government is merrily throwing away here...

It's a worry isn't it - shame more people haven't picked up on it, I really should be able to come up with snappier titles that grab people's eyes! Perhaps I should have written something like "CUNTING BASTARD TORIES GIVE BANKS FREE RIDE" - would that have worked better?
