What is the difference? Being made to stay in overnight even though you have not commited any crime. These TPIMs are surely the same as Control Orders rebranded?

The conditions have been reduced a bit, but they are still much the same thing. I think the control orders had a 16 hour curfew, and the new thing will be 8 hours - so at least they'll be able to go out to work and have some normality. They will also be able to have mobiles and internet access which they couldn't under the control orders.

"Control Orders Lite" is a term I've seen about them, and I think that's pretty much the truth.
