1987 Baby Kidnap Case Solved By Victim

Terrific story about the victim of a 1987 kidnap being reunited with her family.

I saw this and it is completely amazing

oh sorry, posted another thread about this.

totally amazing story.

The one thing I can't quite understand though is why she would think she'd been abducted. I mean it's one thing to think you were adopted and that your parents had failed to tell you but kidnap is a whole different issue...?

I saw a documentary on one of the sky channels which included this story late last year. I am so happy that this girl has found her family. To watch what the mother was going through day after day was heartbreaking.

I find it hard being away from my DCs for 23 hours, 23 weeks would be torture - can you imagine it being 23 years??

Wonderful Smile - I hope they have a very happy future together.

She became suspicious when she wanted to apply for a driving licence and her 'mum' couldn't produce either a birth certificate or a social security number - things an adoption process would presumably include. I've applied for various birth certificates here for genealogy reasons and you need dates, name of parents and the reference number from the register. If she had tried to do the same she would have probably come up as a 'non-person' because there would be no-one of that name born on that day.

Would make a great movie.
