On french radio - a 2 year old climbed out of his cot and let himself out of his parent's house in the middle of the night - he was found 1km down the road by a passer-by, wearing only a nappy and a fleecy top, in the company of the family dog!

No-one had noticed he was gone!

I used to do that.
I was in police custody 3x in 1970 (my mother used to say).
I'd climb on a chair, unhook the door latch, put the chair back, out the door by 5:30 am many mornings...
My parents used to blame my brothers for leaving the door open (early paper round) until they caught me one morning.

My mum's next door neighbour's youngest did this, they had a Yale lock so all she had to do was stand on the bottom step and push the latch down. She spent one night curled up in my mum's porch, and several times she was brought home by people who had found her wandering around in a nappy and t-shirt at 6am.

Eventually they got a deadlock fitted, but only once she had twice been brought back by a policeman on his way to work, who made noises about getting social services involved if it happened again.
