Mums Not Completely Honest With Each Other?

According to this Netmums-inspired article, we're not totally honest about the amount of TV our kids watch or the junk they eat with other mums.

... as my NZ friend would say 'no shit Sherlock' :)

With 'real' friends i am honest ,but with more militant aquantainces i might fudge the truth ever so slightly !

Indeed - I think we could all have predicted this. But TBH it's not easy to be honest about this stuff - it's like joining one of the MN threads about "how often do you wash towels" and saying "Once a month" when others have been told off for skankiness when they say "once a week". You either lie or keep quiet, unless you're in the mood for an argument. So people don't know how many people would honstly answer "Once a month" because nobody will come out and say it. And if they do and get slated, nobody else will say "oh I do that too".

We're our own worst enemies really, no wonder we're all pretending to be doing stuff we're not.

D'ur. Of COURSE we all fib about what great Mums/domestic goddesses we are. Must be a slow news day!

Am expecting DC 2 in March...have added dummies to the list of things to buy but am obviously keeping quiet about that as cannot face the judginess of 'won't it interfere with the b'feeding etc' brigade...

We shouldn't have to do it, but a lot of the time, its for an easier life!!

I wouldntlie about it. My daughter watches loads of tv, she has had fruit shoots and mcdonalds (she screams mcdonalds when we walked through the door last time lol), I ff by choice, I sometimes hide all my dirty washing up in the cupboard so no one can see, she used a dummy.... I could go on and on lol
