Oh I didn't see this and started a thread in Children's Books. I loved his books. I think it's his fault that I'm a vegetarian now Grin because he made you feel so much for the animals. He sounded like such a lovely man too, I bet his family adored him.

What's your favourite of his? I'm torn between Dragon Boy and Tumbleweed.

I remember reading the "Sheep Pig" as a child, years before they made the movie. I have a feeling the BBC also adapted it for TV, but it might just have been on Jackanory.
