On the other hand, he inflicts his hideous songs on us, which does warrant a court martial.

this man is the real hero

MollieO · 14/11/2010 21:59

Would WW3 really have been that bad when compared to listening to his inane singing? Grin

TheNextMrsDepp · 14/11/2010 21:59

I spat my tea out when I read that this morning. Oh, the man is such a HERO! Grin

SpeedyGonzalez · 14/11/2010 22:00

Rofl at Kurri!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 15/11/2010 11:23

He is a bit of a twit isn't he?

Shammalamma · 15/11/2010 11:25

what rank WAS HE?!

Unwind · 15/11/2010 11:51

Captain?

Wiki tells me that he was supposedly the first British officer to enter the Kosovo capital

that he used keep his guitar strapped to the outside of his tank and would perform for the locals

and he was champion skier of the entire Royal Armoured Corps

and he stood guard over the Queen Mother's coffin

Chil1234 · 15/11/2010 18:42

I've never really understood why he gets the 'bit of a twit' description. That first single of his was played ad nauseam and the video was a bit peculiar but I've seen a lot worse. Is it the fact that he's well-spoken and nice-looking?...

LadyBlaBlah · 15/11/2010 20:52

Well, I like him. I even thought he was good on HIGNFY last week. So there.

BadgersPaws · 15/11/2010 21:00

"Is it the fact that he's well-spoken and nice-looking?"

It might also be that he writes, plays and sings his own material. That's something that the manufactured "stars" of things like the "X Factor" can't manage, so there's some insecurity and jealousy going on.

Personally I still don't like his material, but hats off to the man as it is his material.

DramaInPyjamas · 15/11/2010 21:02

I kinda fancy him a bit

LadyBlaBlah · 15/11/2010 21:05

I do too, Drama

orienteerer · 15/11/2010 21:07

Whatever you may think of him:

Captain? = Yes

Wiki tells me that he was supposedly the first British officer to enter the Kosovo capital = well he was in Kosovo but not sure about first in.

that he used keep his guitar strapped to the outside of his tank and would perform for the locals = Don't know

and he was champion skier of the entire Royal Armoured Corps = Yes, skiied for the Army

and he stood guard over the Queen Mother's coffin = Yes

Callisto · 16/11/2010 11:39

I really like him - he always seems so genuine and funny when he is being interviewed, and is happy to take the piss out of himself which is always a good sign. Awful music, but at least it isn't manufactured shite so he gets a point for that too.
