A new pint glass is being launched which doesn't shatter, in order to combat violent crime.

Now I am all for initiatives to lower crime but this makes no sense to me.

A lot of money has probably been spent by the home office on this. But what's the point of having a non-shatter pint glass if you still have glass bottles, glass wine glasses etc?! Makes no sense!

IMO it would have been better to replace all glass in pubs and bars with sturdy plastic instead of wasting money on this...

I think it's a great idea, normally when someone starts shit, you only get one chance to bottle em and run, now you can bottle more then one person before running, it's an excellent idea.

It's not a weapon it's a form of self defence.
